Peek at Baby Ivy ~ Utah Newborn Photographer

Nothing calms me like spending time with a sweet, newborn baby. The quiet calm that accompanies an infant who still spends most of the day sleeping is therapeutic. My baby, being 16 months old now, hasn’t been much of a napper since her first several months. I miss it, but to every thing….

Beautiful baby Ivy has no shortage of love and attention. She is surrounded with happiness and excellent care from her mama, Heather and her grandma, Marilyn. Big brother Surf {coolest name ever?!?} has quite an influence on Ivy, too.

My newborn philosophy is to have no limits and no particular style.  Though I naturally tend to stray away from poses and pre-meditated composition on most shoots, I try to have more structure at a newborn session.  I even bring my checklist. I suppose it’s due to the fact that babies don’t show a lot of personality right off the bat – they don’t really find me funny, either.  Not that any of my more matured clients do – I get lots of courtesy laughs.Ultimately, the outcome is up to me and what I do with the little one.

Ivy’s session was incredibly fun and, if I were to site a particular style, was right up my alley. Flower bows, baskets, feet, hands and girly colors.  Best of all – the birthday suit.
